Blog #9 (Character Comments)

(Comments on my blog in general)- I will be assuming the role of a character in a recent novel I have read in the dark realm series, his name is Drizzt.

(Tone:low, dark, creepy)
   Cole,
I really enjoy reading your blog posts about the heroes in your novels. I am glad that you have considered me a hero but I would disagree. What I did to my betraying city was not heroic, I believe anyone in my situation would have done the same, But I admit it did take alot of courage to overthrow my mom's throne. Your blog has been very inspirational and has shown me true qualitys of a hero and how I could improve on my journeys and quests, thank you and keep them coming.

In my book Pendragon Bobby dreams of being a normal kid, he just wants to be a teenager and do what teenagers do. But he is held back by halla, everything there ever was or will be, and protect it from Sainte Daine. I believe the person holding him back is Saite Daine because if he was not there causing havoc to the territories Bobby would not have to be there stopping him.
If I could speak with my character I would tell him to keep going and achieving his goal of defeating Sainte Daine, I would also tell him that if he gave up, his home and earth would be destroyed, it would all just disappear, and it would eventually end. I would tell him to stay strong and not to give up.

The hero in my book pendragon  is Bobby, he used to be an average boy who lived in the bronx. He is a hero because he has courage to leave his old life and start a new one to save the world, or worlds. he is also a hero because of the fact he is strong, he is strong because he fights evil quigs from the planet of Denduron. Another character in this book that is a hero is Courtney. She is bobby's best friend and also his girlfriend, she is a hero because she helps bobby on his quests and posses the quality of compassion.
"He traded any chance of returning to his old life in order to end the war and begin a new life on the tropical paradise of Ibara. That was okay by him. He was ready to make the beautiful island his new home. He wanted to rebuild the village of Rayne. He wanted to make new friends. Most of all, he wanted nothing more to do with protecting the territories of Halla from Saint Dane."(D.J MacHale 157)
This excerpt from my novel shows that bobby is refusing the call by giving up fighting against Sainte Daine, but he later on realizes his destiny and meets his mentor uncle Press.

The book I just read was pendragon, The evil nemesis is saint daine, he is trying to destroy halla, which is everything that has ever existed (time, space, worlds, history) . he travels to different territories which are like different planets but have different aspects from earth, like the terrirory cloral is a planet that is covered in water. each territory has different technological advancements from earth or they could be lacking in technology. I think Saint Daine is the shapeshifter, because he can change his bodily perception to look like other people, then he lures them into traps. he is also like an antagonist, because of the fact that he is evil, he is evil because he wants to destroy everything and lure it into disaster.

The book I just previously read was "swim the fly". In the first few pages of reading there is alot of reference towards himself, like "I,we, me". The book is about Matt Gratton (the narrator), who is a competetive swimmer to impress a girl. well, he tries to workout alot, drink protein drinks and get stronger to win the race , so the video I am showing is a video of P.K Subban of the montreal canadians train in his NHL off-season http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxY4IO9Ts2M

Page 11 "Swim The Fly"
"We're on our way to Mr.Hoogenbooms funeral. Mr.Hoogenboom lived across the street from us, but I didn't know him more than being kind of angry all the time."

I can connect to this because when I was little I had a neighbor that lived across the street, he was an older man. He always screamed at kids that biked past his house or if  they went on his lawn to pet his dog. but when he died, he had very few people at his funeral, probably because of they way he acted and the negative energy he enflicted towards other people.

I have recently read "Swim The Fly." In my opinion it was a great book. It's about 3 boys and they all have been best freinds for as long as they can remember, and every summer they set themselves a goal to complete and each summer they would up the standards. This summer, they had to see a real live naked girl. the reason its called "Swim The Fly" is because they are on the swim team, and the main character matt offers to swim the fly, trying to impress a girl of course. Matt has to compete against the best fly swimmer in the province, Tony Grillo. At the same time he has to complete his summertime goal with his best freinds Sean and Coop.

"Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his deep and continuing needs, is good for him." Maya angelou.
I chose this quote because I used to hate reading. But I started reading a series called Pendragon, and it completed changed my thoughts about reading. I dont relate to quotes very well but here is my best efforts.
