Tapestry Proposal

   Justice
1. "I have found that mercy bears greater fruit than strict justice."
         -Abraham Lincoln

This is a quote from Abraham Lincoln, a famous United States President, I believe this quote is saying that by using mercy, will make better people than using justice. This method could be used in different places such as law, households, communities, countries, or nations. This is explaining one side of my theme concept saying justice isn't always good, and there are better ways than using justice. I have read about mercy in "Just Lather That's All", "Pendragon",  and "Night". The difference between justice and mercy are clearly shown in the situations the main characters find themselves in, each character has been given mercy to continue their journey.

2."The moral arc of the universe bends at the elbow of justice."
       -Martin Luther King jr.

This is a quote from Martin Luther King jr. , I believe this quote is saying that justice is holding the universe together, it could be on a much larger scale like our earth, or even a smaller scale such as a community or household. The moral arc is like the tipping point between good and bad, and it bends depending on justice. This quote, explains the other side of my theme concept, claiming justice is the best way to keep a balanced community, nation, or household. I have read about justice in "The Highwayman", "Pendragon", and "Bread".

  1. What is the difference between justice and mercy?

You have two good sides to justice here. A good start - except: You have also been required for your proposal to include possible texts that would relate to both sides of your theme. Go back and do this. It will help you later.

Make sure that you use capital letters for proper nouns like Lincoln.
